Good hand-washing technique is the number one method for preventing the spread of infection.  Important not only for professionals, but for all of us as we go through the flu season and travel in crowded subways.

Students in the Surgical Technologist and Medical Assistant programs at Swedish Institute were recently inspired to pay attention to hand washing and other barriers that protect both patients and health care workers. Guest lecturer Pamela Werner, RN, BSN, MBA, described the correct use of hand-washing and offered different methods for remembering key points—the lecture itself, a summary poster published by the World Health Organization, or for those more kinetic learners, a lively video.
