Message from the president

This has been a difficult time.  Most of you are suffering from the aftermath of Sandy or have someone close to you who is.  All of us at Swedish Institute are wishing you a swift return to normalcy.
Your education is one of your most valuable assets and Swedish faculty and staff are fully committed to helping you progress through this Fall term and maintain your path to graduation and employment.  With classes resuming on Monday, November 5th, here's what you need to know:
  • Canceled classes (10/29-11/2) will be made up, through assignments or rescheduling, so that the Fall term will be completed and all material covered.  This will be handled on a class-by-class basis
  • Tutorial classes will be made available for those requesting it and instructors will provide extra flexibility for handing in assignments and rescheduling or retaking exams.
  • Students who are late due to difficult travel circumstances will be allowed in class and be credited for the day's attendance.
  • Students who have lost books or supplies will be provided chapter copies or loaners.
For those of you who can help, Swedish Institute is continuing its long tradition of community service through a food and clothing drive to help victims of Sandy and through organizing outreach efforts for students, alumni and staff.  Please look for the donation stations next week or check with Jess Ferrante, Director of Student Services or the reception desks at both buildings.  Check our Facebook page and website for announcements.

Rest assured that we will do everything possible to keep you on track.  Your instructors and deans will be communicating with you directly and you can respond to this email, or call the college, if you have any questions or concerns.
